What Is RESOLVE?
RESOLVE of Central Texas is a group of interested patients and professionals committed to all aspects of infertility and family building. Our mission is to provide support and information to people who are experiencing difficulties with fertility and to increase community awareness. We provide informed help through monthly educational meetings, compassion and support through bi-monthly peer discussion groups, and links to additional information including publications, websites and other organizations.
What Is Infertility?
Infertility is a disease or condition of the reproductive system often diagnosed after a couple has one year of unprotected, well-timed intercourse or if the woman suffers from multiple miscarriages. Infertility can be male or female related.
Infertility affects approximately 10% of the population. Since infertility strikes diverse groups-affecting people from all socioeconomic levels and cutting across all racial, ethnic and religious lines- chances are great that a friend, relative, neighbor or perhaps you are attempting to cope with the medical and emotional aspects of infertility.
The good news is that there is hope. Your chances for having a child are better than ever with improved medical technology for diagnosing and treating infertility.
How Can RESOLVE Help?
Infertility treatment can be confusing, intimidating, and sometimes clouded with misinformation. One of RESOLVE’s primary missions is to provide knowledge and support about all aspects of infertility. We also provide information about adoption and other family building alternatives.
RESOLVE helps you understand:
where to start to determine if you have an infertility problem,
how to find and select an infertility specialist,
how to get connected with other people who are sharing your concerns and experiences,
where to find more information.
Infertility can be a painful experience and you don’t have to face it alone. RESOLVE provides the information and support needed for individuals and couples undergoing the crisis of infertility.
